The ARTCOOL air conditioner from LG has UVnano™ technology, which, according to TÜV Rheinland tests, effectively eliminates bacteria. Tests performed according to the ISO 20743:2007 standard confirmed that UVnano LED technology removes 99.99% of Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria from the air conditioner fan after four hours of UV LED lights. Although this technology is effective in laboratory conditions, the manufacturer warns that the effectiveness in a real environment may vary.
